According to our friends at SicEmSports.com, Baylor has hired former NFL All-Pro CB Cris Dishman as a new defensive backs coach, replacing Brian Norwood who departed over the weekend to join Philip Montgomery's staff at Tulsa. It is unclear at this time whether Dishman will coach all DBs or just safeties as was Norwood's role. You could also potentially see Dishman coach cornerbacks and current CB coach Carlton Buckels switch over to coach safeties.
As we first reported, Baylor has hired two-time NFL pro bowl CB Cris Dishman to coach DBs, replacing Norwood.

Dishman was a 2-time Pro Bowler over a 12 year NFL career, mainly with the Houston Oilers but also with the Redskins, Chiefs and Vikings. Dishman's sustained success at the NFL should allow him to make an instant impact on the recruiting trail, especially with the Bears in the running for some highly rated defensive backs to close the 2015 class. He will also be able to impart his wisdom and knowledge in the secondary to coach up a DB unit that struggled down the stretch in 2014.
Dishman was most recently coaching with the San Diego Chargers as their assistant defensive backs coach under former head coach Norv Turner. Before that, he was the defensive coordinator at Menlo College, an NAIA school in the San Francisco area. It will certainly be interesting to see what impact he has on the Baylor Bears of 2015 and beyond. Welcome to Baylor, Coach Dishman!
