What can you say after a game like this? Baylor scored 28 in a quarter twice, once with backups playing a good deal. The defense pitched a near shutout, allowing only 3 points through the entire game in what has to be the most impressive performances by the Bears in some time. Wofford is a good team. Tonight, Baylor made them look like they were not. It's hard to imagine, but I actually did our entire program a disservice by limiting the prediction thread to Baylor + 30. We ended up winning by 66.
This weekend's Big 12 games aren't done yet, and TCU has a chance to shake things up considerably, but it's hard for me to imagine how Baylor isn't considered at least the second-most impressive team in the conference this week (the first being, potentially, TCU). Run through the teams if you don't believe me: All Kansas State did was lose to FCS North Dakota State. West Virginia very nearly did the same to FCS William & Mary. Iowa State has 10 minutes to avoid losing to Northern Illinois. UT sputtered early offensively before blowing out New Mexico State with the starters in the game throwing bombs into the fourth quarter. OU shut out ULM, an admirable defensive effort against what I thought would be a decent offense. OSU earned the conference some kudos in beating Mississippi State, but I never "bought" MSU, anyway. Baylor ran up 700 yards of offense, gave up 233, and won by 66.
From the fans to the team, tonight was an incredible way to start the season. I couldn't be happier, and I have nary a negative word to say! Quickly...

Lache Seastrunk's running, Bryce Petty's throwing, the Baylor Defense (Yeah, I mean it), depth at the RB position, young receivers making plays, the Class of 2017!!!, the crowd, basically everything.
