From the Baylor Athletics Twitter account a few minutes ago came confirmation that the recent effort to sell out the Berm at McLane Stadium for Saturday’s game has been successful:

The berm is for Saturday’s game. We’ll see you there! #SicEm pic.twitter.com/2biO3n8H6T
This is a big departure from the three prior home games this season, where the Berm had been (I believe) reserved primarily for student overflow based on expectations about student attendance, which has actually been pretty high. Hearing complaints that the area was not being used correctly and that students should be sitting in the Line or other student seating areas, Baylor reversed course for this game, offering the tickets at steep discounts for general seating. It worked!
Now that you’re here, let’s talk about something else: the weather. I know we like to joke at Iowa State’s expense about the heat in McLane Stadium, but it’s time to get serious about this. If you are expecting that the 11 AM game Saturday will be cool because it is October, you are wrong. Though the game-time temperature is only supposed to be about 80 degrees, by the time the game should end, it will be closer to or exceeding 90 degrees, and at 11 AM, virtually the entire stadium will be in direct sun. Start preparing early for it, because it is going to be hot. There should be some wind, thankfully, but it’s still going to be hot.
