Baylor Opens As 9.5 Point Favorite over West Virginia

The Baylor Bears head back to Morgantown for the second time in program history this week as a road favorite, always a tricky position in the Big 12 Conference.

John Weast

It's Sunday afternoon again, and that means new lines for the coming games of the week.  With an opening line against the Mountaineers of Baylor -9.5, the Bears are once again a favorite in a Big 12 game.  In case you haven't read Charles' post wrapping up weekend action in the Big 12, West Virginia is coming off a last-second win over Texas Tech in Lubbock.

Over on VegasInsider.com, my go-to for CFB lines and info, the current VI consensus has this game listed at Baylor -9, meaning we've already seen a bit of movement since the line first opened.  Assuming the old adage that the home team gets three points still rings true, that means Vegas thinks Baylor would be ~-12 on a neutral field, which honestly sounds about right looking at the game now without any having paid any specific attention to the matchups therein.  Just a reminder: this game is kicking off at noon Eastern.

You guys know the drill with the poll below the post.  Also, if you feel like it, you can elucidate your feelings in the comments below.

Other lines of note:

Georgia (-3) @ Arkansas
Alabama (-14.5) vs. Texas A&M (opened at Bama -11)
Oklahoma (-9.5) vs. Kansas State (opened at OU -12)
Texas (-11) vs. Iowa State
Texas Tech (-14) vs. Kansas
Florida State (-11.5) vs. Notre Dame (opened at FSU -13.5)
