According to VegasInsider.com, the Baylor Bears have opened as a 16.5-point favorite over the UTSA Roadrunners for the game scheduled on Saturday at 7 PM. It’s hard to know whether this line is higher or lower than it would have otherwise been had Baylor performed better against Liberty this past week. Stated differently, we don’t really know if Vegas thinks the Bears are better than they showed or if the line would have been larger had we won. It’s easy to assume the latter, but we can’t really know.
I suspect that most, reacting to the Liberty game, will think this spread is too high. Frank Wilson is an up-and-coming coach for UTSA whose name is already in play for other jobs that may come open this year, and the Roadrunners are no joke. I’m curious what our folks think hearing that this line is what it is.
