Conference play begins this week! The Bears are finished with their non-conference slate of games and have emerged undefeated and largely unscathed. After absolutely demolishing Rice last weekend, 70-17, the Bears now look to their first conference opponent, the Texas Tech Red Raiders, who will pose a challenge for this defense that looked very, very good against a decent Rice squad last weekend. We'll get to the in-depth previews of the game later in the week. For now, it's press conference time!
As usual, the Big 12 Media Teleconference happened this morning. The Archive Link isn't quite up yet, but when it is, you should give it a listen. Briles was later in the call. Here's the link if you're interested.
Apparently we're getting a new trophy for this game:

So, are we sad or glad that they didn't put BU on the left, and TT on the right? I've got mixed emotions about this one. The mileage of the BUTT jokes varies, I feel like.
Also, from the Kingsbury portion of the teleconference, there was an injury update:
Kliff Kingsbury says QB Patrick Mahomes is day-to-day and will find out if he can play late this week
— Colt Barber (@Colt_247Sports) September 28, 2015
Kingsbury noted QB Pat Mahomes day-to-day. "We have ultimate confidence in Davis (Webb)."
— Jake Trotter (@Jake_Trotter) September 28, 2015
Here's another fun nugget from the Kingsbury portion:
Kingsbury said Baylor's offense is not similar to TCU's, "no one in the country does what (Baylor) does."

As always, we're embedding the official twitter profiles for both teams so that you can keep up to date with the information rolling out of the media today:
