For the second year in a row, Baylor opens as a double-digit favorite over the Texas Longhorns, this time in a game that will be played in Austin, not Waco. The Longhorns are coming off a 23-0 win over the Kansas Jayhawks and sit at 2-2 (1-0) on the 2014 season, while the Bears are now 4-0 (1-0) after beating the Iowa St. Cyclones in Ames. This will be the second conference game for both teams, and the first for Texas at home this year.
Depending on which site you prefer, the line may actually be slightly different. VegasInsider shows an open at 12.5 points that has since moved in their VIConsensus to 13.5. OddsShark doesn't have anything yet for this game, but the Wynne reportedly posted a line of Baylor -12.5. Because I trust VI, I'll say it's 13.5 and not feel weird about it.
I'm curious what people think about this line. Had you asked me going into it, I probably would have said something around 12 or 13 points given what each team has done, but it still surprises me to see a line a half-point shy of two touchdowns. In the poll and comments below, give me your thoughts.
Other lines worthy of note (via @KegsnEggs):
Texas A&M (-1) @ Mississippi State
OU (-6) @ TCU
Alabama (-4) @ Ole Miss
East Carolina (-39.5) vs. SMU
That last one was just because I would absolutely take ECU on that line without thinking.
