Baylor Opens at -6.5 over TCU

The oddsmakers are not Horned Frog fans, apparently, as Baylor opens a healthy favorite in this weekend's matchup.

Rob Christy-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

I expected Baylor to be a home favorite this weekend with all of the uncertainty swirling around TCU's football team, but I'll be honest and say that I didn't expect the opening line to be this big. 6.5 points is a fairly healthy line for a conference game, and even though I definitely think we'll cover handily, I wasn't sure if the oddsmakers would agree. According to Oddsshark, the very early action has already shifted the spread up a half-point to Baylor -7, and I'd expect that line to shift again if/when TCU decides to update everyone about Casey Pachall. A line of Baylor -10 around game time wouldn't surprise me in the least.

In other Big XII news, OU opened at -3 over Texas in the Red River Shootout, Oklahoma State -21 over Kansas, Kansas State -7.5 over Iowa State (PICK KANSAS STATE!), and West Virginia somewhat shockingly only got 5.5 over Texas Tech. I ... think I might put my entire life savings on WVU in that game.

All odds courtesy of Oddsshark.com's list for this week.

Someone tell me how that last line makes sense, please. Please?
