Those hoping for the return of the black uniforms this weekend are apparently getting their wish. Baylor announced a few minutes ago that we will don our #allblackeverything uniform combination for the 2:30 game tomorrow. Here’s the tweet:

I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the obvious tension this creates since Baylor had been pushing this game as a greenout for months, and we actually just filed our official guide for what people should wear earlier this week. It may also embolden those people that wanted fans to wear black in support of Art Briles, since I’m sure some fans will now decide to wear black because the team is wearing black, too.
Really, I’m just curious what drove this decision: was it the players wanting to wear black because black is awesome (it’s an objectively awesome uniform combination, no question) or some kind of statement by the Powers That Be in the football program (whoever that is) to go against the greenout? I have no idea, but I obviously hope it’s the former.
Anyway, the team will be wearing black. Fans are still supposed to wear green (I guess?). We’ll see.
