Two weeks ago, Baylor took the field as a 36.5-point favorite over SMU in a game they eventually won by 35. According to VegasInsider, if the Bears took the field today against Rice, they'd do it as a 33-point favorite over the Owls, who are coming off a 38-24 win over the UNT Mean Green.
I expected that Baylor would be a healthy favorite for this game at home, but I don't know if I expected this. Rice, if you recall, was a 14.5-point underdog to Texas two weeks ago for a game they lost by 14 in Austin, and I thought we'd see something like Baylor -23 or -24. But -33? Vegas apparently has a bit more confidence in us than even I did.
Vote in the poll below and give me your thoughts about this spread. Also, check out a few more notable spreads from the Big 12 for Week 4:
Oklahoma State -4 @ Texas
West Virginia -16.5 vs. Maryland
TCU -9.5 @ Texas Tech (INTERESTING)
Kansas @ Rutgers -13
And I guess that's it. OU, Kansas State, and Iowa State are all off this week before starting Big 12 play on 10/3.
