Unless you're a Luddite (and if you are, how exactly are you reading this? Did someone transcribe it by hand and give it to you to read? Let us know in the comments—dang it, you're a Luddite and can't), you are acutely aware that this weekend's tilt with Oklahoma State is the second annual Blackout game and first-ever in McLane Stadium. It's going to be loud, raucous, and incredibly fun, provided we don't get absolutely soaked. Get your black rain slickers ready!

And then there was this little bit of genius from @nick_pants, born out of me randomly tweeting a quote from the LEGO Movie (because I was watching it):

To paraphrase Vetruvius, That idea is just. The. Best.

Once upon a time, the Oklahoma State Cowboys were 5-1 and ranked #15 in the country. Then their real schedule began. TCU slaughtered them 42-9 (in a win that was initially used as justification for TCU's high ranking by the CFP Selection Committee), and that began a four game skid against the meat of their schedule. Consecutive losses to West Virginia, Kansas State, and Texas mean the Cowboys' bowl hopes are in serious jeopardy. They'll have to hope for an upset over either Baylor this week or the Bedlam game in Norman on December 6 to become bowl eligible. Conventional wisdom says hope is bleak for this Cowboys team.

J.W. Walsh injured his foot in the second game of the season, thrusting junior Daxx Garman into the starting role. While his completion percentage and yardage look solid, he's thrown as many interceptions as he has touchdowns on the season, and Oklahoma State's offense has struggled frequently against top Big 12 competition. The offense hasn't scored more than 20 points since Iowa State on October 4 (the game-winning touchdown against Kansas came on a kickoff return).

Not the greatest numbers there. We'll look at the advanced stats more in-depth later on in the week, but the Cowboys' rushing attack checks in this week at 100 in Rushing S&P. It's not good. Desmond Roland is averaging nearly 4 yards per carry, but was beset by family tragedy a few weeks ago when his mother passed away. Tyreek Hill has been somewhat better, averaging nearly 5 yards per carry. Beyond that, though, the Cowboys are not having much success on the ground.

There's some talent in this receiving corps, but their production the last few weeks has been downright awful, owing largely to the fact that Daxx Garman doesn't have much time to get rid of the football. Texas sacked him seven times. That said, Tyreek Hill is an absolute freak of an athlete, and possesses the capability to burn you at any time.
