Game Week! News and Notes, plus Meet the Press

At long last... It's GAME WEEK!!!! That means we're kicking of the week with the Meet the Press event as usual!

Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports

Ladies and gentlemen, after the longest, worst offseason in recent memory (possibly all of memory), it's finally here. It's GAME WEEK! The Bears get set to kick off on Friday night at 6:30 p.m. against Northwestern State. I'm ready. You're ready. The team is ready. Let's do this. But first...

The Bears open at McLane Stadium on Friday night... So, OF COURSE there is rain in the schedule. Currently, wunderground puts the precipitation chance at 60% for Friday. The text forecast for Friday reads, "Variable clouds with thunderstorms, especially in the afternoon. High 89F. Winds NE at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 60%." There's good news and bad news here, I'm afraid. Here's the hourly breakdown:

The good news: at this point, it looks like it's going to be clear at 6:30 for game time. That's great news. The bad news is that the highest chance chance of rain comes during the prime tailgating timeframe. As is always the case, we'll keep our eye on the forecast and keep you all posted as the week progresses.

Game Day Attire!

Just as a reminder: Here's the gameday attire for Week 1 against Northwestern State, in case you forgot:

Podcast Returning!

If you haven't noticed, the podcast hasn't followed it's normal preseason schedule that we've had since its inception in 2013. Both Mark and I have been insanely busy and just haven't been able to come together at a good time. Because of that, Fank is joining me on the podcast tonight to preview the team! We're also looking at doing a season predictions podcast like we've done in the past later this week.

So, look for a podcast tomorrow! If you have any questions, feel free to ask them in the comments or shoot them to us on Twitter.
