ADVANCED STATS:
Never got the chance to do a Preview/Prediction thread of my own this week, so this is going to have to suffice for now:
Advanced Stats:
Take a gander while you've got a chance over at Peter's Advanced Stats post this week. I'll give you the highlights below.
You'll see below that I'm not taking Baylor to cover that 35-point spread, but you can see above at least why it exists.
Thoughts on the Game:
Kansas kept the game against TCU close last week with solid defense and an offense decent enough to do some things against a weaker-than-expected TCU defense. If Baylor wants to avoid a similar fate, we can't come out the way we did against Iowa State and allow them to build confidence and string together success against our own defense. At the same time, it's critical to put an end to the pattern we've shown so far this season of slow offensive starts. Jump on Kansas early, pin them down from the start, and then finish. The defense has shown it can do the last thing, since we haven't given up a single point in the fourth quarter this season, but we've yet to see the first in conference play. I want to see it today, and I'm confident that we will in front of a huge Homecoming crowd.
One thing to watch is how Baylor's defense performs against Kansas's running game. The Jayhawks have been pretty terrible running the ball this season, and I think we all agree that's the weakest spot of our defense (outside of inexplicable long third downs). If Kansas is able to establish a running game like ISU did a week ago (at least early), that's a big problem.
My Prediction: Baylor 48, Kansas 17

While fans enjoy the parade and other festivities, homecoming is all business for the No. 11 Baylor football team.
Baylor, after near-upset at Iowa State, is wide awake for Kansas | www.mystatesman.com
Baylor has had an extra week to contemplate what might have been had it slipped up on the road at Iowa State, a loss that surely would’ve dropped the Bears out of a realistic chance for the Big 12 title and a possible berth in the College Football Playoff.

So I never got a chance to write a Preview/Prediction thread for KU this week. Might still do it. In the meantime, vote here:
