Depending on your general outlook, you're either going to love or hate that first half, which saw Baylor score 39 points yet still never really get going offensively. The defense provided three turnovers leading to short fields, but the offense mostly failed to take advantage, and it's probably fair to say the Bears left a dozen points or more on the field.
Bryce Petty finished the half just 9/20 for 166 yards and 1 TD. Part of his inconsistency can be attributed to a receiving corp that did him no favors with drops, but part of it is that he just hasn't looked that good. Several passes have sailed on him, he's missed a couple of wide open dumpoffs to RBs out of the backfield, and the playcalling overall has disappointed, with hardly anything between the numbers once again and ALL FADES EVERYTHING.
Devin Chafin, tho. Dude came to eat cake and kick butt, and he's all out of cake.
On defense, aside from one scoring drive that saw Kansas put up their only TD, Baylor has been pretty good. Andrew Billings, in particular, has had himself a heck of a day, as has Shawn Oakman. Here are the full stats via ESPN.
