Once again, the oddsmakers in Vegas have, it could be said, challenged the Baylor Bears to outdo themselves in the 2013 season. In a year where the Bears have seen spreads of 29, 27.5, 30, and 33 points, they've now also been named a 5 touchdown favorite for this week's game against the Kansas Jayhawks. Kansas is coming off a disappointing final three quarters against the Oklahoma Sooners after having taken a 13-point lead in the opening frame and will welcome the Bears to the friendly confines of Lawrence this coming weekend.
I have no idea what to do with this spread. I thought 33 points was high for Iowa State, then Baylor won by 64. Those things obviously aren't related to each other -- Kansas isn't Iowa State and vice versa -- it just explains my trepidation about a line that huge. I don't want to disrespect the team by saying they can't do it because clearly they can. Whether they will is a different story.
Other interesting lines in the Big 12 for this week:
TCU -2 vs. UT
Okie State -14 at Iowa State
OU -8 vs. Texas Tech
Kansas State -9 vs. West Virginia
