A couple of hours in, the line on Baylor-Iowa State is Cyclones -5.5.

Coming off a 45-7 win yesterday in the first road trip and conference game of the season, the Baylor Bears opened as 6.5-point underdogs to the Iowa State Cyclones this afternoon according to VegasInsider.com. Since that time the line has moved twice, first 2 points in Baylor’s direction, then a point back towards Iowa State, and is currently ISU -5.5. The over/under is currently 49, up from 46.5 at the open today (all numbers are VI Consensus).

Baylor is 2-1 against the spread the season, having covered in the Texas Southern and Kansas games after not doing so against Texas State to start the year. The Bears started receiving votes for the first time in the Coaches’ Poll this week but have not appeared in the AP Poll yet. In Bill C’s rankings at ESPN ($$), Baylor moved up to #37 overall (#77 offense, #11 defense) from #48 a week ago. Iowa State is #14 overall (#19 offense, #14 defense), which I’m guessing would support the roughly 6-point spread in their favor after a home-field adjustment.
