Apparently the Bears are meeting with the media this afternoon either in advance or in the wake of their regular practice today, and there's a lot of fun, funny, and very interesting stuff that's being dropped on us, the vast majority of it dealing with new starting quarterback, Jarrett Stidham. Let's get to it.
The Interesting

Stidham's first start at Baylor will be on the road at Kansas State. Briles says that's what you want as a competitor.

I have to stop right there. This is exactly the point I was trying to make on the podcast yesterday - since it has to happen on a big stage, I love the fact that Stidham begins his career as a starter in Manhattan. It's going to be a big game atmosphere on national television on a Thursday night. Hostile crowd. Team that is always challenging but a bit down this year. I think it's the perfect scenario to find out just exactly what we have in this true freshman quarterback.
Briles asked if JS still seems like a frosh: "Not at all. You won't hear that word come out of my mouth because that's not how I view him."

Briles on first time he saw Stidham: "I thought he threw it as well anybody I'd ever seen, so it was just instant 'this guy's different'."

Briles says Stidham has done nothing to disprove his initial impressions that he was a special player. "Not one bit."

Goodness.
Baylor players have complete confidence in Jarrett Stidham. Believe they can still achieve national championship goal.
