Just a few minutes ago, Baylor Football announced the scheduling of a home-and-home series with the Auburn Tigers for the 2025 and 2026 seasons. The formal release is available here. Auburn joins Ole Miss (2020), BYU (2021 and 2022), Utah (2023 and 2024) and Oregon (2027 and 2028) as P5 (or similar) opponents on Baylor’s future schedules. The timing of the first game (August 30, 2025) means it will almost certainly be the first game of that season, while the second game (September 5, 2026) will likely be the second in its season.

The release also notes that Baylor has finalized three games with Texas State in 2021, 2022, and 2023 (numbers that, now that I’ve done it, feel really strange to type). The 2022 and 2023 games were already on the future schedule listed at FBSchedules.com, but the 2021 wasn’t. That game now fills the schedule for that year, leaving 2024-2029 with openings (among years where we’ve scheduled anyone at all).

I’d run a poll on this, but I think it would be pretty unanimous that this is a good move. I look forward to seeing the 2025 and 2026 Bears in action!
