Big 12 Power Rankings: Week Eight

New, comments

Let's get to Rankin'(e). Or maybe Kelvin'? This is a science joke.

Ray Carlin-USA TODAY Sports

Last week's rankings.

1. Baylor Bears (+0)

A lackluster game for the Bears on Saturday, but with a bye week coming up, I think Briles and co. will be able to find their edge again just fine.

2. TCU Horned Frogs (+0)

The Froggies had a bye week. Lucky. It was wet Saturday.

3. Oklahoma Sooners (+0)

What the heck happened to the Sooners against Texas?! Whatever it was, it has gotten them re-focused and they look darn good right now.

4. Oklahoma State Cowboys (+0)

Obviously, there are other things that the Cowboys are worrying about right now, but they still came out and beat down Kansas. The Cowboys might be highly overrated or they may be really good. Who knows?

5. West Virginia Mountaineers (+0)

The Mountaineers had a bye week.

6. Texas Tech Red Raiders (+2)

I'm sorry Red Raiders, I underrated you last week. Y'all hung with OU for a bit there, but that final score is not pretty.

7. Texas Longhorns (+0)

Texas won another game! With Iowa State and Kansas in back-to-back games, the Horns may be within one game of bowl eligibility with three games left to play...against WVU, Tech, and Baylor. Good luck there.

8. Kansas State Wildcats (-2)

Oh Snydercats... Y'all put up 45 on TCU and then score nine points over the next two games? That offense is ugly right now. Like Texas, the Wildcats have three wins and Iowa State and Kansas still on the schedule. They'll need to pull off an upset if they want to go bowling, though.

9. Iowa St. Cyclones (+0)

Not even a literal cyclone hitting McLane could have helped Iowa State win the game against Baylor.

10. Kansas Jayhawks (+0)

Kansas is already eliminated from bowl contention...
