Baylor QB Bryce Petty graces Winter Edition cover of Dave Campbell's Texas Football

Noted Baylor enthusiast Greg Tepper and Dave Campbell's Texas Football revealed the cover of this year's Winter Edition a few minutes ago. Your favorite Baylor QB was on it.

Ronald Martinez

Oooooh, that's a good look right there.  Last year's Winter Edition cover went to, of course, Johnny Manziel, the reigning Heisman Trophy winner at that time.  This year it's our own Bryce Petty representing the Big 12 Champion Baylor Bears.  Petty will return for his senior season at Baylor in 2014 looking to build on a first year as a starter that saw him throw for 4200 yards, 32 TDs, and just 3 INTs and run for another 209 yards and 14 TDs on the ground.  A good way to tell if someone making a short list for the 2014 Heisman knows at all what they're talking about is to see if Petty is included.

Congratulations to Bryce and Baylor Football for the honor of making the cover of DCTF!  It may seem like a small thing, but I assure you that the magazine still carries a ton of weight within the state of Texas, and the fact that someone wearing green and gold is on the cover means that someone wearing maroon or burnt orange isn't.  I call that a win.

The Winter Edition will be available for sale on January 24 state-wide and is available now for pre-order.  I think Tepper's Baylor heart grew three sizes this day.
