Baylor's 12th Opponent for 2013 Will Be.... the Wofford Terriers!

According to FBSchedules.com, a site dedicated to following the ins and outs of scheduling for college football's highest subdivision, an agreement is in place for Baylor to welcome Wofford to Waco.

USA TODAY Sports

The link hypothesizes that this game will take the place of Wofford's canceled matchup with Florida State, scheduled for Week Zero on August 31, 2013. That means we won't have a game on 9/14, after all, and will instead have three bye weeks in the 2013 season.

Just a few tidbits about our newest foe, the Wofford Terriers.

  • Their mascot is the Terriers and the school is located in Spartanburg, South Carolina
  • They are a member of the Southern Conference (FCS) and finished second last season at 9-4 to Georgia Southern.
  • Their season ended last year in the FCS Quarterfinals against eventual champion North Dakota State University. They lost 14-7.
  • Here is their full 2012 schedule, which I can't paste for a reason that is completely unknown to me at this point. Whoever "Lincoln" is GOT THEY ASS WHUPPED IN THAT GAME.

So there you have it. Baylor again has a complete football schedule for 2013 with two bye weeks before our fourth game and four in a row to start the year at home. With a new QB in Bryce Petty and a defense still looking to find consistency, I'm ok with it. It's not a slate that is going to impress anybody, but we should be able to rack up the Ws. It will also be nice to send Floyd Casey out to pasture with 7 home games out of 12.
