Spencer Drango named to ESPN All-Bowl Team

The redshirt freshman left tackle ended 2012 on a very high note, securing Nick Florence's back side against UCLA in Baylor's big Holiday Bowl victory.

Though some of the All-Bowl teams from various publications have been a bit surprising for the ursine omissions, ESPN's team, possibly the most high-profile of the bunch, has a player not mentioned on any of the others: left tackle Spencer Drango. Drango's inclusion in the list is probably not as surprising as those he beat out for it, including consensus all-everything LT Luke Joeckel and whichever badass Alabama played in that spot in the NCG.

Congrats, Spencer! Our young tackles were a point of some consternation coming into the 2012 season but by the end, he and Troy Baker formed a bookend combination the Bears will build around for years to come.

As for the others, SI.com's team included OG Cyril Richardson, who will also be back next season, while Ivory Wade, who will not due to graduation, made the list created by USAToday. Baylor was also extremely well-represented on ESPN's Big 12-specific team, putting both RBs (Lache Seastrunk and Glasco Martin), both defensive ends (Chris McAllister and Terrance Lloyd), two offensive linemen (Cyril and Ivory), and LB Eddie Lackey on the team. All in all, a very strong showing for the Bears in recognition of their Holiday Bowl performance.
