The award given to the nation's top receiver every year may finally come to Baylor. Just one season removed from Kendall Wright's ridiculous snub, Terrance Williams has been honored alongside fellow Big 12-er Stedman Bailey and USC's Marqise Lee. Terrance (Terrence Williams) has some catching up to do with Marqise Lee, but is firmly ahead of Stedman Bailey, I think. Here are their respective stat lines, and no, I don't think kickoff returns or punts should be factored in. This award goes to the nation's best receiver, not the nation's best return man. There's another award for that.
Terrance Williams -- Baylor
Stedman Bailey -- West Virginia
Marqise Lee -- USC
Lee obviously has the benefit of an 11th game played already, as he's behind TWill in yards per game. Bailey has the big edge in passing touchdowns since he is the primary receiver for Geno Smith once West Virginia gets into the redzone. Baylor is much more run-oriented at that point.
Obviously I'm biased in that I look at Williams' stats and don't really see a contest. He has more yardage receiving than Bailey in fewer catches, by a lot. He has more yards per catch than Lee by quite a bit and nearly the same amount of yards in one fewer game. Give him two more and I bet anything he catches up.
