Those Baylor fans waiting and hoping for the starting debut of Zach Smith have gotten their wish after the first two games of the season. Coach Rhule just announced that the sophomore QB will start this week at Duke, who is favored over Baylor by 14 points as of this writing.
I imagine this news will be met with some celebration by Baylor fans frustrated by the up-and-down play of Anu Solomon in the Bears’ first two games, both losses. Last season, Smith had a 139.2 QB rating as a true freshman with 13 TDs against 7 INTs.
