Yesterday’s ankle injury will cause Seth to miss the last three games of his senior season.

As OBF said in his post just a few minutes ago, it’s Next Man Up for true freshman Zach Smith now that Baylor has confirmed that Seth Russell will miss the last three games (plus a bowl) games of his senior year.

Seth’s injury occurred in the third quarter of yesterday’s game against Oklahoma, and no, I’m still not going to post a video or Vine of it.

Seth finishes his Baylor career with a record of 14-3 as a starting QB and with a combined four-year stat line of 5,461 passing yards and 60 passing TDs against 18 interceptions. He will also finish with the second-highest QB rating ever for a Baylor QB at 159.36 according to Baylor. He also added 1,240 career rushing yards and 20 rushing TDs.

As I wrote in yesterday’s post-game after the loss, we should all be exceedingly proud to call Seth Russell one of our own. He will enter Baylor lore as not only one of the best QBs we’ve ever had, but one of the best people, as well. He’s the epitome of what we want “Baylor Bear football player” to mean.

Best of luck in your recovery, Seth! I know you’ll still be cheering your brothers from the sideline!
