C-5-O wins!
Reinhold Matay-USA TODAY Sports

The ODB Predict the Score playoff season ends with the happy win by our Bears.  C5O had the closer prediction variance than beardoug1 to take the title.  Congratulations to beardoug1 for a great season and a second place finish.  Though I did not announce a third place game, both GeorgiaBear and beefsupreme* played this week so in an impromptu h2h comparison, GeorgiaBear earned the third place finish.  Although both GeorgiaBear and beefsupreme* had great seasons, big props to GeorgiaBear for all the accuracy in your predictions throughout the year!  As you read through the rest of the article, you will see GeorgiaBear throughout with wins in the weekly contest and the best overall average for the year.

And not to be overlooked with the end of the year plaudits, jdaustex was the closest to the correct score for this game having predicted a 52-35 Bear win.  Congratulations to jdaustex!

Many folks have passed along their appreciation over the weeks for me having managed the game.  Please accept this collective "you're welcome".  It was fun to develop a way to keep it interesting for as many people as possible through the highs and lows and the length of the season.  I really appreciate some of the feedback that has been shared all along.  As an example, i think of the comment by Gleitz on how excited he was when the otherwise relatively unimportant garbage time score occurred that gave him the perfect projection in week 3.  And the game excitement and personal pride that came through in comments by week-to-week winners such as Redbeard25, lisahi, OsoProf, et al, or the Looney Tune .gifs that came with predictions from jdaustex, etc, etc, too many notes to itemize completely...these were the 'payoff' moments that made it fun for me.  And to BearNTex...there is always next year...keep those darts sharp.  Thank you to everyone for playing each week...It was the only way this worked.  Sic 'em Bears!
