The most recent Coaches Poll is out and our favorite ursine-named team are up to number two in the land, right behind Ohio State (Poll inertia!).

Baylor come in with 1463 points and eight first place votes. TCU are right behind Baylor with 1441/5 votes. Utah, many people's number one pick, only earned a single first place vote and are ranked number seven. In Big 12 news, Oklahoma State are up to number 15, while OU dropped to 19. Kansas State, Texas (?!), Texas Tech, and West Virginia all received votes.

UPDATE: The AP Poll has just been released and your Bears have overtaken the Horned Frogs for the second spot. On the anniversary of 61-58, no less. Baylor are also only 21 points behind reigning champion Ohio State in this poll. Big 12 has Baylor at two, TCU at three, Okie State at 16, and OU at 19. Even Houston is getting in on the action now with a 24th place slot!

Coaches Poll reactions: Really surprised that Michigan are as low as they are. Three straight shut-outs and only fourteen points surrendered across the last five games is dang impressive. Ohio State are still number one, for whatever reason, and Texas received four votes. Yes, 2-4 Texas. Meanwhile, Oklahoma State is sneakily climbing the polls after an overtime win in Morgantown.

AP Poll reactions: Only 21 points behind Ohio State! Some people aren't buying into the Baylor hype, but the overwhelming majority of voters are. Baylor got 13 first-place votes and 15 second-place votes. Only seven voters put Baylor outside their Top Five. Again, surprised to see Michigan outside of the Top Ten, but that'll change with the game against Michigan State this upcoming weekend. Three G5 teams made it in: Boise State, Toledo, and Houston. Cal, despite their loss, didn't drop. The SEC has four teams in the Top Ten, but none in the Top Five.

Appreciate this, Bear fans. It wasn't too long ago that we were on the receiving end of the blowouts. Cherish this time, this team, this University, and just keep winning.
