As far as actual practices go, I believe the real "start" of CampBU2014 isn't until Tuesday, but the players on twitter are talking about things getting going tomorrow, so that's what we'll do. And we have this from the social whizzes at @BUFootball:
So, whether we see an official kickoff tomorrow or not, it's about time to gear up around these parts for the beginning of the 2014 season. To that effect, a couple of favorite features from years past will be making their return this week:
Our position-by-position look at Baylor Football's 2014 roster will start tomorrow and proceed thusly, aided (I hope) by an official Fall Camp Depth Chart:
Monday 8/4: QBs
Tuesday 8/5: RBs
Wednesday 8/6: WRs
Thursday 8/7: TE/OL
Friday 8/8: DTs
Monday 8/11: DEs
Tuesday 8/12: LBs
Wednesday 8/13: NBs
Thursday 8/14: CBs
Friday 8/15: Safeties
Monday 8/18: Kickers/Punters
Tuesday 8/19: Returners
Having those available will help us begin the 2014 Community Projections, which I have decided to do again after having seen the tremendous response from the unveiling of the 2013 Offensive Champion. I promise I'll get to the defense soon.
The idea here is to project out the major statistics for each of Baylor's offensive and defensive studs. This will take much longer. Each thread will go up at 7:00 AM to give the maximum time for voting.
Tuesday 8/5: QB Bryce Petty
Wednesday 8/6: RB Rashodrick Linwood
Thursday 8/7: RBs Devin Chafin and Johnny Jefferson
Friday 8/8: WR Antwan Goodley
Monday 8/11: WR Levi Norwood
Tuesday 8/12: WR Corey Coleman
Wednesday 8/13: WR Clay Fuller
Thursday 8/14: WR Jay Lee
Friday 8/15: TE Trevon Armstead
Saturday 8/16: Freshmen Wide Receivers?
Monday 8/18: DE Shawn Oakman
Tuesday 8/19: DE Jamal Palmer
Wednesday 8/20: DT Andrew Billings
Thursday 8/21: DTs Beau Blackshear and Javonte Magee
Friday 8/22: LB Bryce Hager
Monday 8/25: LB Aiavion Edwards
Tuesday 8/26: NB Collin Brence
Wednesday 8/27: CB Xavien Howard
Thursday 8/28: CB Terrence Singleton
Friday 8/29: S Orion Stewart
Saturday 8/30: Terell Burt
This list assumes the depth chart shakes out as expected at this point. If, for example, somebody beats out Brence (not saying they will, but if they do), we'll project for that player instead. We may also have to move things around to make the dates fit.
Reminder: YOU MUST GIVE PROJECTIONS FOR EVERY PLAYER ON EACH SIDE OF THE BALL TO BE ELIGIBLE TO WIN THE COMPETITION. That means all the offensive, all the defensive, or both.
If you have any ideas for other things you'd like to see as we gear up for the 2014 season, feel free to post them here or email me directly at OurDailyBears (at) gmail (dot) com, except in the normal format for emails. I intend to do all the things we've normally done, like a breakdown of the depth charts when they become available, posts focusing on the biggest issues on offense and defensive, polls about breakout players, potential freshman contributors, etc. But if there's something you haven't seen before and would like to, please let us know.
Also, vote in the poll below!
