Earlier this afternoon we found out that the College Football Playoff Committee decided to snub the Big 12 completely, putting Ohio State into the the playoff field over TCU and the Baylor Bears. Ironically, after all the talk from Bob Bowlsby refusing to declare a Big 12 Champion to the Selection Committee, the Big 12 Tiebreaker rules kicked in and the Conference determines that, due to its head-to-head victory over TCU, the Bears are the Big 12 champion for the purposes of representation in the New Years Six bowls. Because of that, we learned that Baylor will be the Big 12 representative in the Cotton Bowl on January 12, 2014.
We're facing the Michigan State Spartans. 11:30 a.m., January 1, 2015. It's the early game.

Personally, I'm thrilled with the opportunity to square off against a B1G team to prove our supremacy. While the general consensus is probably that an SEC opponent would have been preferable, I'm fine with facing off against the Spartans. It's going to be an interesting few weeks as things get ramped up for the game, and with the expanded timetable, you can bet we'll be bringing you a full slate of coverage. Get excited, and get to Arlington. That place better be packed with gold and OUR green.
