I'll be honest-- I hoped against hope that Baylor's jump back to #10 in both the AP and Coaches Polls this week might be enough to sway the voters of the CFB Playoff into bringing us back to the Top 10 with TCU and Kansas State, but alas, it was not to be. Instead, we were jumped by Arizona State and still sit behind Ole Miss with four conference games to play, two of which will be against teams ranked in the top 15 in #15 Oklahoma and #7 Kansas State. If you're looking for chances to impress, look no further.
The Top 4 in this week's rankings was always going to be pretty clear, although the ultimate order was up for debate. With Ole Miss falling by the wayside after their second loss and Oregon downing the perennial thorn in their side, Stanford, the Ducks jumped up to #4 following Mississippi State, FSU, and Auburn. Honestly, though I'm not still not convinced just how good FSU actually is, I can't really argue that group all that much. We're all just in a holding pattern until one of those top four lose or someone is able to catch and jump them, the latter being much more likely, particularly since only one of MSU or Auburn can play in and win the SEC Championship game.
I'll update this post with the full chart once I get it. Until then, give me your thoughts in the comments for where Baylor stands right now and how far you think we can go with our remaining schedule. As for me, I've resolved not to get upset about it this time around simply because I believe we have the opportunities with OU and KSU ahead of us to get the wins we need to have an argument. Get those two and we can talk about it. Don't, and there's really no point.
