The Baylor Bears will be facing off against a Wichita State Shockers squad in a bit of a down year. Sitting at only 3-3 with loses to Alabama and Davidson on neutral sites and a home-opener loss to Louisiana Tech, Wichita State is in somewhat of a similar situation as Baylor. Senior power forward Markus McDuffie is the only significant returning piece from last year’s team. Gregg Marshall has had a time getting his relatively new squad to cohere this season. Currently they rank 87th in the KenPom rankings, a fair set below Baylor who sits at 58.
KenPom gives Baylor a 45% chance of winning this game. The Bears will need to win most of its non-conference games if they are to retain hope for a Tournament appearance at the end of the year.
Transfers Makai Mason and Mario Kegler should feature heavily. If Tristan Clark can manage to stay out of foul trouble and match up with McDuffie, Baylor has a good chance in this game.
The game can be found on CBS Sports. Tip off is at 7pm CT. Join us in the comments!
