Hello Walk-off Win Column!

Baylor Baseball swept the mid-week series against Louisiana Tech in fine style tonight by the score of 5-4. Remarkably, it's the second walk-off win of the young season already, and the Bears have fully recovered from their lackluster start to stand at 7-6.

BAYLOR
(7-6) Rank: NR

A leadoff walk by Lawton Langford to start the ninth set the stage for senior Cal Towey to rope a single into RF off the glove of the first basemen, putting runners at first and third with no outs. Towey scored on a wild pitch, which put Langford in scoring position with no outs. Sophomore Duncan Wendel took advantage with a single, scoring Towey and earning a win for Doug Ashby, who pitched 2.2 innings of scoreless relief following Sterling Wynn and Kolt Browder.

I didn't get to watch any of it, but I'm excited for the Bears to finally hit their groove this year. Starting Friday, Baylor welcomes Illinois (who I know nothing about) to Baylor Ballpark for a three-game set. Hopefully Miles will give us the low-down on not only what happened in Waco tonight, but what to expect this weekend, as well.

Congrats, Bears!
