Mizzou secures former Georgia edge rusher Darris Smith in transfer portal

Even on the day dedicated to locking down high school recruits, Missouri football dipped into the transfer portal. The Tigers landed former Georgia edge rusher Darris Smith on Wednesday, securing a portal commitment from an in-conference transfer. Smith spent two seasons with the Bulldogs before deciding to leave. He played sparingly this year but recorded two tackles in Mizzou's 30-21 loss to Georgia on Nov. 4. Tabbed as 6-foot-5 and weighing 240 pounds, Smith brings length to the edge, where he's listed as an outside linebacker. His size and skillset will create an interesting weapon for defensive coordinator Blake Baker and edge rushers coach Kevin Peoples.
