The week 3 slate of games might take a little step back as far as quality matchups, but fans will still be treated to some old rivalries and intriguing conference games. As always, I will try and highlight a game from each time slot.
Nebraska vs. Oklahoma — Most analysts not only seem to think that Oklahoma will win this game, but that it won’t even be close. That puts a lot of pressure on the Sooners to perform at a high level. There is nothing to lose for Nebraska and we will see just how much that helps them stay competitive. This is the “Big Noon Kickoff” game on Fox—11:00 AM CST.
Alabama vs. Florida — Can the Gators slow down the Alabama offense? I’ll be disappointed if Florida can’t keep this within two scores. You’re at home, #11 in the country, and you were able to play them close a year earlier. I think college football fans are really starving for a competitive game, if nothing else to provide some hope that it’s not already a foregone conclusion that Alabama will bring home the national championship. It will be televised at 2:30 PM on CBS.
Auburn vs. Penn State — Whoever wins this game will receive a lot of hype going forward. Two ranked teams going at it in primetime , and in front of a hostile crowd—-it doesn’t get much better than that. It’s set for 6:30 PM on ABC.
