Baylor Football Adds Jacob Gall, A Grad Transfer OL from Buffalo

NCAA Football: Texas Christian at Baylor Raymond Carlin III-USA TODAY Sports

Baylor picked up a huge commitment from grad transfer OL Jacob Gall today. A small time recruit and undersized, Gall turned himself into quite the player at Buffalo, primarily playing at LG and RG. He had a 90.5 rating from Pro Football Focus, which rates him as one of the top OGs in the country.

Buffalo ran the wide zone scheme that Baylor will be running under new offensive coordinator Jeff Grimes and OL coach Eric Mateos, so adding a guy with Gall’s knowledge and experience will be an immediate benefit to the room.

Gall almost assuredly starts, and probably slots in at LG. Baylor will probably still be looking for another lineman in the portal, but as of now I think the left side of the line is probably solidified with Galvin at LT, Gall at LG, and Xavier Newman Johnson at C. RG and RT remain the biggest question marks at this point.

Baylor will heavily feature the wide zone running game this season, so adding a guy of Gall’s caliber is a huge deal.
