The Bears will play Oklahoma State in the semifinals, while Texas moves on uncontested due to Kansas COVID issues.

The second game of the day, between Kansas and Texas, has been called off due to positive COVID tests in the Kansas program. So Texas will advance and play the winner of Baylor and Oklahoma State for the championship:

#1 Baylor vs. #5 Oklahoma State

Friday, March 12th 5:30 PM CT, ESPN or ESPN2

Your 1 seed Baylor Bears (22-1, 13-1) advanced to today’s semifinals after an ugly, gritty win over Kansas State yesterday. Did Baylor play sloppy? Absolutely. However a win is a win and victories are always much harder when the team your playing against will have their season end with a loss. Plus, Kansas State had been playing much better as of late. Regardless, the Bears need to put their quarterfinal game behind them as they prepare to face 5 seed Oklahoma State (19-7, 11-7) who got a nice win over West Virginia in their quarterfinal game. The Cowboys are back at full strength with Cade Cunningham and Isaac Likekele returning to the court. Baylor beat the Cowboys in both of the teams’ regular season meetings. Can they notch a third to advance to the Big 12 Conference Finals? I think so. Baylor did a good job of limiting Cunningham in their previous meeting, so they should be fine defensively. If Baylor’s offense improves off of their sloppy performance against Kansas State they should take care of this game just fine.

83-71 Baylor
