Baylor Basketball Announces Three More Delayed Games Because of COVID-19 ; Six Games to Makeup Now

NCAA Basketball: NCAA Tournament-Second Round-Baylor vs Gonzaga Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Nothing too good happens in this era, so sadly, Baylor announced today:

The next game Baylor is scheduled to play is Saturday February 20 against Oklahoma State in Waco.

The Big 12’s protocols require teams to play if they have four scholarship athletes. With contact tracing, we don’t know exactly how many folks have the virus, and how many are just in the protocol from that.

Baylor now has six games to makeup. They have two games against West Virginia, then games against: Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, Texas and Oklahoma.

There’s one week after the Big 12 Tournament to reschedule some games. But the Bears need to make up six, which isn’t going to happen in one week. The league is open to play three games in certain weeks though.

We’ll see if a few of these get canceled, or if the Big 12 elects to forego the Big 12 Tournament to ensure a full 18 game league slate.

Hopefully everyone stays okay, and the Bears can return to play against Oklahoma State on the 20th.
