Baylor’s game with West Virginia is now set for 4:00 p.m. on Thursday February 25th in Waco. The game is slated to air on ESPN2.
The Bears are schedule to have three games next week. They’ll take on Iowa State on Tuesday at 7:00 in Waco; they’ll also meet Kansas at 7:00 on Saturday. That one’s in Lawrence.
With a week off before the start of the Big 12 Tournament, the Bears have six potential makeup games. Hopefully Baylor can get two or three added that week. Baylor missed games with Oklahoma (Norman), Oklahoma State (Waco), Texas (Waco), Texas Tech (Waco), TCU (Waco) and West Virginia (Morgantown).
The Bears have a four game lead in the loss column. If it becomes relevant, winning percentage will be the conference tie. Currently, nobody else can win 15 Big 12 games; so if Baylor plays all six possible games (the three next week, and the three the week after) and wins out, there’s literally not even the ludicrous, “Baylor didn’t play all 18 games” argument.
We probably won’t know much about player availability until before the game. I’d expect a press conference on Sunday or Monday. But with the way COVID-19 goes, and the contact tracing rules, I’d guess we’ll find out about an hour before Baylor-Iowa State who is available for that meeting.
