Oklahoma State vs. Iowa State
Tuesday, February 16th 3:00 PM CT, ESPN+
Oklahoma State (13-6, 6-6) secured a 7 point victory over Kansas State over the weekend. They now host Iowa State (2-14, 0-11) in what should be another victory for the Cowboys. Iowa State put up a better fight against the Jayhawks this weekend, but turnovers still ultimately killed the Cyclones’ chance at a conference victory. Iowa State lost the last meeting between these teams, 81-60. I expect a similar score margin in this one, especially since the game is in Stillwater.
78-59 Oklahoma State
#12 Texas @ # Oklahoma
Tuesday, February 16th TBD
#12 Texas (13-5, 7-4) faces off against rival #9 Oklahoma (13-5, 8-4) for the second meeting of the season between these two. Oklahoma won the first meeting by 1 point in a hard fought battle. Texas regained momentum last week, winning games against Kansas State and TCU. Oklahoma marks a significant step up in competition level, however, as the Sooners won their last game against West Virginia. Even though Texas won their last two games, they were against weaker competition and the Longhorns still haven’t looked like they did about a month ago. Oklahoma completes the sweep.
69-66 Oklahoma
#15 Texas Tech vs. TCU
Wednesday, February 17th TBD
#15 Texas Tech (14-6, 6-5) travels to TCU (11-8, 4-6) in the second game that was scheduled between these two this week. The first game was postponed due to inclement weather in the state of Texas. Texas Tech had their weekend game against Baylor postponed, so their most recent game was a loss to West Virginia that saw coach Chris Beard get ejected. Emotions have likely cooled off since then, but the Red Raiders will be looking for a solid win against TCU. The Horned Frogs lost to Texas by 15 points in their last game. I expect Texas Tech to win, although the game might be close-ish.
78-72 Texas Tech
#23 Kansas @ Kansas State
Wednesday, February 17th 7:00 PM CT, ESPN+
#23 Kansas (15-7, 9-5) and Kansas State (5-17, 1-12) faceoff for the second time this season in what should be another lopsided rivalry game. The Jayhawks blewout the Wildcats in their last meeting, winning 74-51. Even though Kansas is not nearly as good as seasons past, Kansas State is historically bad this season and the Jayhawks should easily cruise to a sweep in this rivalry matchup.
72-55 Kansas
#12 Texas @ Iowa State
Thursday, February 18th 6:00 PM CT, ESPN+
#12 Texas and Iowa State both play a second game this week thanks to COVID rescheduling. It is somewhat hard to accurately predict this game without know the results of their games prior, but honestly I would likely pick Texas in this one regardless of those results. Iowa State did hang close with the Longhorns in their last meeting, only losing by 8. But the Cyclones have shown a complete inability to close a game out this season, and I don’t think that happens here against Texas.
70-63 Texas
