Baylor freshman Langston Love tore his ACL in a recent secret scrimmage with Texas A&M, per a release. The freshman will miss the season, but the release announced he will be back next year.

Love figured to play heavy minutes in the likely four guard rotation. Scott Drew told me he was playing well. And Matthew Mayer told me at Big 12 Media Days that Love improved the most over the summer.

Love was a 4-star prospect and ranked No. 40 in his class by 247 and No. 28 by ESPN.

With Love’s injury, I’d expect Baylor to play bigger lineups with Matthew Mayer and Kendall Brown at the “3” more than the Bears might have with a healthy Love. Dale Bonner, a D-2 transfer, may also need to play more this season.
