Week 8: Other Games Thread

NCAA Football: UCLA at Washington Joe Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports

Week 8 might be the lightest and least anticipated slate of games so far in the 2021 season. That’s unfortunate for Baylor fans that won’t be preoccupied with keeping up with the Bears on Saturday. But for the college football enthusiasts, there will still be plenty to watch. Below I have highlighted 3 games from different leagues and time slots.

Kansas State vs. Texas Tech — After a nice stretch of non-conference play the Wildcats are suddenly on the receiving end of a three game losing streak. They’ll go into Lubbock as a desperate team looking to turn their season around. On the other side of things, coach Matt Wells is one win from bowl eligibility. The Big 12 matchup will be played at 11:00 AM on FS1.

Oregon vs. UCLA — Every week I spotlight a game from the PAC 12 and it never fails that there is an upset. Does anybody want to take control of this conference? The Bruins and Ducks will have a chance to make a statement. It will be a 2:30 PM kickoff on ABC.

Tennessee vs. Alabama — The night games are not great this weekend. The Volunteers seemed to be improved and have been a fun team to watch. Let’s hope this game against Alabama will be as entertaining as the one a week prior against Ole Miss. The matchup will televised at 6:00 PM on ESPN.
