Week 5: Other Games Thread

NCAA Football: Texas A&M at Arkansas Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

Week 5 is shaping up to be the best week of the college football season. There are multiple top-10 matchups and several ranked teams that go on the road to play tough opponents. Because Baylor plays in the evening, fans will get the opportunity to enjoy several games before the Bears take the field. I’ll highlight 3 games on tap, each in a different time slot.

1.) #8 Arkansas vs. #2 Georgia — The Razorbacks have already had a couple of emotional wins in September and it does not get any easier as they go on the road to face Georgia. If Arkansas can run the ball and keep their defense off the field they might have a chance for an upset. Believe it or not, this top-10 matchup will be an 11:00 AM kickoff on ESPN

2.) #7 Cincinnati vs. #9 Notre Dame — The Irish have had some close calls this year, but have managed to come away with Ws each time. I don’t think this game is getting enough attention—if the Bearcats can find a way to win this game, I think they control their own destiny for a playoff spot. Tune in at 1:30 PM on NBC to see how it plays out.

3.) Arizona State vs. UCLA — Another underrated great game. The PAC-12 south is wide open after USC’s loss last weekend. The winner will be in great position to make the conference championship game. If you can stay up for it, the game will begin at 9:30 PM on FS1.
