For those of you die-hard college football fans who didn’t get enough of a fix with last week’s Central Arkansas vs. Austin Peay matchup, there’s another slate of “appetizer” games this week before the main course of Big 12 football kicks off next weekend.
Tonight features two Thursday night showdowns, Central Arkansas vs. UAB and South Alabama vs. Southern Mississippi. Central Arkansas/UAB kicks at 7 PM CT on ESPN3 and South Alabama vs. Southern Mississippi gets underway at 8 PM CT on CBSSN.
Saturday then has a slew of G5 match ups. At noon, Eastern Kentucky travels to Marshall on ESPN. At 12:30 CT, Middle Tennessee kicks off against Army on CBSSN. Of interest to Texans, SMU travels to Texas State at 3:30 CT on ESPN.
Three more games round out the Saturday night slate of week one college football action. Houston Baptist faces North Texas at 6:30 CT on ESPN3. Arkansas State travels to Memphis for a 7 o’clock kick on ESPN. Finally, Stephen F. Austin battles UTEP at 8 PM CT on ESPN3.
As a final treat, BYU and Navy faceoff on Monday night at 7 PM CT. This game is potentially the most exciting matchup of week one. Week two will then open with plenty of fireworks as the Big 12, SEC, and ACC start their respective seasons.
