After a flurry of activity yesterday, which included the announcement that the NCAA Tournament and Big 12 MBB Conference Tournament would be played without fans in attendance, the Big 12 has announced that the Conference Tournament has been canceled. First came the news that multiple Power 5 conferences were canceling their tournaments:

Shortly thereafter, we got news that the players for Texas Tech and Texas were being pulled off the court, mere minutes before their game was scheduled to tip off. Now we have news that the Big 12 also has canceled its conference tournament.

Others confirmed the same. It would appear that the Big 12 has canceled both the Men’s and Women’s tournaments. Concerns over the impact of the coronavirus have grown over the past 24 hours or so, leading multiple professional leagues to suspend their seasons in addition to the measures announced by the NCAA. Baylor was scheduled to tip off against Kansas State at 6pm Central time this evening.
It appears that the writing is on the wall for the NCAA Tournament, but as of the time of this writing, nothing has yet to be announced.
We’ll keep you posted.
