Davion Mitchell and Mark Vital Named Naismith Defensive Player of the Year Semifinalists

Davion Mitchell and Mark Vital were two of ten players named to the Naismith Defensive Player of the Year semifinal list.

Mitchell and Vital lead Baylor’s defense, which is ranked No. 3 in adjusted defensive efficiency. No other school had two players named to the list.

Marcus Garrett from Kansas is the only other player from the Big 12 on the list.

The NCAA will announce four finalists on March 12th. The winner will be announced during the Final Four on April 5th.
