#15 Oklahoma State @ TCU
Saturday, December 5th 11:00 AM CT, ESPN2
#15 Oklahoma State (6-2, 5-2) is in must-win mode for their Big 12 title hopes. While they are tied in the standings with Oklahoma, Oklahoma will hold the tie breaker over them and Iowa State is nearly assured a spot in the Big 12 title game with how a potential three way tiebreaker would go down. The Cowboys travel to TCU (4-4, 4-4) who has looked somewhat decent, winning three of their last four games. They annihilated Kansas last weekend in a super bizarre performance from Max Duggan (I’m going to repeat the stat-line here because it is so strange. Duggan threw only 3 of 11 but all of those three completions was for a touchdown). The Cowboys almost blew a late game lead to the Red Raiders, but ultimately pulled out a 50-44 victory in their last game. The Cowboys are favored by 2.5 points and that seems about right, a close win in OSU’s favor.
33-30 Oklahoma State
Kansas @ Texas Tech
Saturday, December 5th 11:00 AM CT, FS2
I’m going to keep the tradition going of keeping this one short. Texas Tech (3-6, 2-6) is going to beat Kansas (0-8, 0-7). The Red Raiders are favored by 27.5 points. That might be a touch steep but their margin of victory will probably hover just above or below that mark.
51-24 Texas Tech
Texas @ Kansas State
Saturday, December 5th 11:00 AM CT, FOX
Texas (5-3, 4-3) is essentially out of the race for the Big 12 championship after succumbing to Iowa State last weekend. They now need to bounce back mostly for pride against Kansas State (4-5, 4-4) who suffered a heartbreaking, last second loss to Baylor in their previous game. Kansas State looked better offensively against Baylor than they did against Iowa State, but I still don’t think they have the experience at quarterback to top the Longhorns. Texas is a 7 point favorite but I think they win by double that.
28-13 Texas
#9 Iowa State vs. West Virginia
Saturday, December 5th 2:30 PM CT, ESPN
#9 Iowa State (7-2, 7-1) is flying high, breaking the top 10 of the playoff rankings after a huge win over Texas. The Cyclones are all but assured a spot in the Big 12 championship. The only matchup standing between them and a likely rematch against Oklahoma or Oklahoma State is West Virginia (5-3, 4-3). West Virginia shut TCU down in their last game, winning 24-6. As such, the question in this game is if Iowa State’s offensive line can protect Brock Purdy from the Stills brothers. If they can, then I assume Breece Hall will also get the running lanes he needs to gash West Virginia on a few key plays. I’ll take Iowa State, who is favored by 6.5, in a game where neither team scores more than 20.
17-13 Iowa State
Baylor @ #11 Oklahoma
Saturday, December 5th 7:00 PM CT, FOX
Baylor (2-5, 2-5) scored a much needed win against Kansas State last weekend. Charlie Brewer had one of the best games of his career, throwing 31-39 for 349 yards and two touchdowns. That was great. I don’t think this game will be nearly as great. #11 Oklahoma (6-2, 5-2) started the season looking a bit shaky but has been incredibly strong down the stretch, winning five games in a row. They’re also playing to secure a spot in the Big 12 championship game. I want to see Baylor continue to build off of the offensive success they had against Kansas State, but I am not expecting any miracles for the 22 point underdogs.
48-30 Oklahoma
