Baylor blasted Arkansas Pine Bluff 99-42. The Bears are 6-0 and will take a Christmas break. They’re scheduled to return on December 29.
Three takeaways:
1) The 3-point shooting is still hot: Baylor entered the game No. 1 in 3-point percentage and left with the same lead. They hit 11-of-23 triples. MaCio Teague went 2-of-3 from deep, and LJ Cryer picked up KenPom MVP honors with a 4-of-6 performance from beyond the arc.
2) Jared Butler continues dishing dimes: Butler had 13 assists and one turnover on Saturday against Kansas State. He had seven assists and one turnover today. Scott Drew noted in the press conference that Butler is doing a good job “taking what the defense gives him” as teams play him as a scorer, he’s become an adept facilitator.
3) Good teams win; great teams cover- The Bears continued to handle their business and stayed aggressive. Despite a massive line, the Bears covered. I don’t bet, but those of you that do and take the Bears, congrats on the money.
