Somewhat unexpectedly, Baylor will be heading to Los Angeles, California this weekend to take part in the UCLA regional. The Bears will be joined by number 1 overall seed UCLA, 3-seed Loyola Marymount, and 4-seed Omaha. It is quite a turn of events for a Baylor fan-base that was hopeful to stay in Texas, Louisiana, or Arkansas just a few weeks ago.
There is some good news, however. Coach Rodriguez and several players are from California and have familiarity with the area. In addition, Davis Wendzel looks to be ready to go after missing the home stretch of the Big 12 regular season. And with the amount of offensive talent on the team, they are capable of beating any team in the country on a good day.
The Bears open up play against Loyola Marymount on Friday afternoon at 3:00 PM CST.
