The Baylor Lady Bears collected another Big 12 tournament title, beating #2 seed Iowa State 67-49.
While Baylor was the winner, it was a much closer game than the final score indicates. Iowa State boasted the Big 12 POTY Bridget Carleton, but it was the defenses that battled it out for 3 quarters of play. Baylor pulled away in the 4th quarter behind an offensive explosion and defensive lockdown. The Lady Bears outscored Iowa State in the 4th quarter 19-5.
Baylor was led by Kalani Brown who had 17 points. Chloe Jackson followed with 16 points and Lauren Cox had 14 points.
This completes another sweep of the Big 12 conference. The Lady Bears will enter the postseason 31-1, with a sole loss to Stanford early in the year. They will almost certainly be the number one seed overall.
Sic ‘em Big 12 tournament champion Lady Bears!
