Baylor takes on West Virginia at 1:00 in the Ferrell Center. The game airs on ESPNU.
Here are three keys:
1) Defensive rebound- West Virginia is 10th nationally in offensive rebounding. The Mountaineers have not won a road game, but they still play hard and will crash the glass for second chance points.
2) Back-cuts- The Mountaineers’ defense will go into denial mode and look to stop the Bears. In the first meeting, Baylor cut to the hoop to overwhelm that defense. Time to run it back:
3) Intensity- Baylor is a 12.5 point favorite. The Mountaineers are the worst team in the Big 12. They’ve kicked off two players since the meeting in Morgantown. If Baylor is locked in, barring a wild shooting day, they’ll win this game.
Prediction:
Baylor has substantially more talent than this West Virginia squad. But Bob Huggins is fantastic, and his team still hasn’t punted on the season.
The Bears should eviscerate this West Virginia team. I’ll take Baylor 72-52.
